Γευστικά χαρακτηριστικά

Πολύ βαθύ ρουμπινί χρώμα. Στην μύτη αρώματα από ζουμερά κόκκινα και μαύρα φρούτα, με νότες μολυβιού και κέδρου. Στο στόμα μεσαίου σώματος με ώριμες τανίνες και λεπτή οξύτητα, εξαιρετική ένταση που οδηγεί σε μακρά πιπεράτη επίγευση.

Οινοποίηση

Cabernet Sauvignon 67% , Merlot 25%, Cabernet Franc 6% & Petit Verdot 2%. Από τον αμπελώνα δίπλα στο θρυλικό Cos d’Estournel  που έχει θέα τον αμπελώνα του Lafite, σε ζεστά, χαλικώδη και διαπερατά αργιλώδη εδάφη. Σύμβουλος οινοποίησης είναι ο θρυλικός Jean-Claude Berrouet οινολόγος του Chateau Pétrus για πολλά χρόνια (πρώτη του δουλειά στην αριστερή όχθη). Zύμωση σε  ανοξείδωτες και τσιμεντένιες δεξαμενές σε ελεγχόμενη θερμοκρασία, με μακρά εκχύληση.

Ωρίμαση

Για 12 μήνες σε δρύινα βαρέλια νέα (50%) και 2ης χρήσης.
Μπορεί να καταναλωθεί από τώρα μέχρι το 2040.

Outer quote mark The 2016 Lafon-Rochet is very intense on the nose. A mixture of red and black fruit, crushed violet, wild mint and crushed stone unfolds with aeration. It’s perhaps a little Barolo in style. The palate is beautifully balanced with supple tannins, very velvety smooth with lovely acidity and sensuality on the finish. Gorgeous. “Based on 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Petit Verdot, the 2016 Château Lafon-Rochet comes from healthy yields of 46 hectoliter per hectare and was raised in 50% new barrels. While I wasn’t able to taste this wine on release (I purchased this bottle locally), it’s certainly showing potential today. Deep purple/plum-hued, it has a ripe, powerful bouquet of blackberries, truffly earth, licorice, bay leaf, and spicy oak. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated Saint Estèphe with a solid spine of acidity, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.
