Les Carmes Haut-Brion – Pessac Léognan 2020

Γευστικά χαρακτηριστικά

Χρώμα έντονο, βαθύ ρουμπινί. Στη μύτη ελκυστικά αρώματα από κόκκινο και μοβ φρούτο, ροδοπέταλο, μέντα, λεβάντα, αποξηραμένα βότανα και αρωματικός καπνός. Στο στόμα, ευγενικό, απαλό με πολύ ωραίες μεταξένιες και ώριμες τανίνες, απόλυτα ισορροπημένο. Μακρά ορυκτή επίγευση.

Οινοποίηση

Cabernet Franc 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 34% και Merlot 26%. Η ζύμωση (χωρίς σύνθλιψη και με ένα ποσοστό ολόκληρου τσαμπιού) πραγματοποιείται σε δρύινες (76 HL), τσιμεντένιες (50 HL) και ανοξείδωτες (60 HL) δεξαμενές σε ελεγχόμενη θερμοκρασία 28^o-30^οC, με μακρά εκχύληση 35 ημερών σε επαφή με τα στέμφυλα και συχνή ανακύκλωση του μούστου. Μηλογαλακτική ζύμωση σε βαρέλια. 3,62 pH

Ωρίμαση

Για 24 μήνες, το 80% σε δρύινα βαρέλια με 80% νέο, το 11% σε μεγάλα δρύινα βαρέλια (foudres) και το 9% σε αμφορείς.
Μπορεί να παλαιώσει για 15-35 χρόνια.

“The 2020 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a total stunner. For the first time I can remember, Les Carmes Haut-Brion marries all of its elements so well that nothing stands out. In the past, the high percentage of Franc and/or the whole clusters were evident. The 2020 is the first modern vintage in which all the elements are so well balanced. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, mint, lavender, dried herbs and incense all build in a ravishing Pessac-Léognan that will take your breath away.
The 2020 is 40% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot, picked between September 14 to 26, which is early here. Whole cluster was 55%. Vinification took place over five weeks, using very gentle extraction, with no pumpovers or punchdowns. Aging was 80% new oak, 11% 18hL foudres and 9% amphorae. In tasting, the 2020 is simply magnificent. There are no soloists, just the most exceptionally vivid, breathtaking orchestra imaginable. “Another beautiful wine from the Lefévère family that does everything right, the 2019 Château Sansonnet has a textbook Saint-Emilion bouquet of chalky minerality, ripe red and black fruits, notes of truffle and flowers, medium to full body, and beautiful overall balance. In the past, this wine has had a glossy, slightly modern style (in a good sense), but the 2019 has an incredibly classic feel with its oak nicely integrated and just a liquid rock-like minerality on the finish. It’s a gorgeous wine that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades.”  04/2022
